The Waterline vase designed for Royal Leerdam Crystal celebrates the 350th anniversary of the Old Dutch Waterline.

The waterline was a series of defenses conceived in the 17th century in Holland to protect the land during wars. The ingenious defense lines, today a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a series of beautiful landscapes, natural bodies of water and fortresses.

The shape of our Orange vase, a pentagon fort, is inspired by the structures in the fortified towns on the waterline, cleverly using water as an ally.

Since 1927, Royal Leerdam Crystal has commissioned Dutch designers and artists to design an Orange Vase on the occasion of special events of national importance. The vase is produced in an edition of 350 pieces.
