Studio Wieki Somers worked with metal forming experts to employ new methods of fabrication such as forming by explosions, rubber pressing and super plastic forming. By stretching the boundaries of thin sheet metal moulding, they are developing nearly impossible looking shapes for a remarkable cabinet.
Every functional detail has been designed to jointly define the aesthetics of the 'Pressed metal cabinet’. The miter joint provides strength and at the same time looks slender and frames the cabinet’s presence. The simplicity, rhythm of the design and the hidden handle make it a mysterious and exciting object.
