This tableware has a special 3D coating with a velvety-soft surface with a number of some visually extraordinary qualities. Like velvet, which does not reflect light, it seems to absorb light like a bottomless black hole. Shapes take on an ambiguous quality: a deep black velvet circle may well be a hole, or it may be a bowl, or a plain flat surface. The material texture generates a mysterious depth, both deceptive and fascinating.
